Minimum Requirements
- Admitted to NC A&T State University
- Dance Experience - at least 3-5 years of Jazz or Ballet or 2+ years on a high school dance team (Experience must have occurred within the last 3-4 years) Dance classes "when you were little" do not count towards performance requirements
- Twirling Experience(Majorettes)- Baton Twirlers must have 2+ years on baton and be comfortable with multiple batons and twirling fire. Could be competitive or on a team.
- Twirling Experience (Flags)- Flag Twirlers must attend at least one spring clinic or have 1 year of twirling flag. (should have mastered all basic twirls and spins)
- Physical Fitness- **IMPORTANT** Please be aware that candidates for a collegiate audition must come to the tryout process in peak shape (flat stomach and sides, toned arms and legs, stamina, etc)
- Great attitude and ability to work well with a team
- Outstanding Showmanship and Womanly Appeal
Ideal Candidates
Ideal candidates have formal training in jazz/ballet and also have experience with high school marching band auxiliary. They have twirled before or attended multiple GD clinics to gain a confidence with equipment. They are in top shape for auditions and do not rely on training camp to achieve fitness goals. Be mindful that ladies may look nice in jeans and a top but challenges are revealed when wearing two piece costumes, swimwear, etc. Ideal candidates are humble and very passionate about performance. They work well with others and enjoy the team atmosphere. They are helpful and considerate as well as know how to balance activities and manage their time. Ideal Delights exude confidence in performance and draw the audience in with their showmanship.
